Tea bags are small envelope shaped bags carrying
numerous pores. These bags hold the loose tea leaves. Tea bags are commonly
manufactured from materials such as paper, plastics or silk. The brewing is
facilitated by process of infusion. Tea can be made simply by dipping the tea
bags in a cup of hot water. As soon as brewing is complete, the tea
bags can easily be withdrawn and discarded. A fine thread is attached
to the tea bags along with a paper label for its quick disposal and easier
identification of the manufacturing company. The name of the brand, the type of
flavor is generally imprinted on the tags attached to the tea bags. The brands
names are highlighted in the bags with greatest importance in order to
popularize the product amongst the consumer.
The paper or plastic foils are generally folded in form
of square or rectangular, circular or pyramid shaped envelopes. These apart,
empty tea bags are also available which the consumer can fill on his own with
loose tea leaves as per need and convenience.
Large variety of tea products that also includes herbal
tea is available in the commercial market in form of tea bags. Tea bags largely
consist of the small sized residuals after the large tea leaves are processed
for being sold as loose tea. But there are few exceptions to this as some
companies also use whole leaved tea in their tea bags.
Tea bags have acquired tremendous popularity because of
its easy to use features. The user friendliness of tea bags vastly increases
their acceptance to the consumers. All these factors have made tea bags to
emerge as such a viable product.
